The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA) was signed into law on August 14, 2008 and imposes compliance certification requirements on a wide variety of consumer products subject to consumer product safety rules. Under the new law, for applicable products, such as drugs and dietary supplements subject to the Poison Prevention packaging Act (PPPA), are required to provide certification that the product complies with all relevant rules or standards enforced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
Therefore, a compliance certificate must be “furnished” to each distributor or retailer for each shipment of a drug or dietary supplement product that contains an ingredient which requires child resistant (CR) packaging, by November 12, 2008. This website exists to satisfy the requirement that a certificate "accompany” a shipment.
